Fall Apart Pork Chops

March 8, 2014 by pictureperfectcooking

Who doesn’t love a tender pork chop smothered in a tasty sauce?  No one that I know!  Real Mom Kitchen has found anyone either so she posted this delicious and simple recipe on her blog.  I can’t recommend this enough!

Fall Apart Pork Chops

6 bone-in pork chops

garlic salt to taste

black pepper to taste

1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce (I used Kroger honey BBQ sauce.)

(I didn’t have garlic salt so I Just used garlic powder and salt separately.) Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and spray a 13×9” baking dish with non-stick spray.

Season the chops on both sides with the salt, pepper & garlic powder.  Place the chops in the baking dish no more that 2 chops high.  Pour the sauce over the chops making sure all of them are covered in sauce.

Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.  You will know that they are done because they will literally fall off the bone.  Yumm!!!

I don’t have in pork chops with the bone. I have Ribeye pork chops thin cut. Will this still work? How would I change this recipe to make it work with Thin cut Ribeye chops.

  20. on November 9, 2017 at 12:58 pm Yukon

Very very good I had to change the sauce because I cannot have anything with tomato in it I made a white sauce and it was very delicious

  26. on November 30, 2018 at 1:25 pm Evelyn

  29. on February 13, 2019 at 11:36 pm LUCYG

I made this today using boneless pork chops and a local BBQ sauce. After 3 hrs 15 min, they were falling apart and delicious. Served with the sauce from the baking dish. Thanks for a great and easy recipe.

  30. on May 9, 2019 at 1:25 pm Carole Fernandes

You should post the temperature for baking these pork chops. I’m going to assume it is 350 degrees

    • on May 24, 2020 at 2:44 pm Peggy

It was in the narrative. Says preheat oven to 300.

    • on November 16, 2021 at 5:09 pm Diana

Directions state to preheat oven to 300 degrees

  31. on May 29, 2019 at 3:23 pm Jill Cottles

  33. on September 17, 2019 at 7:35 am Ebbie

    What is oven temp?

    • on May 30, 2021 at 10:53 pm Jan Chambers

He said 300 degree in recipe

  34. on October 27, 2019 at 11:11 pm CarolAnn Garmann

How do you make pork chops that are not dry.

  35. on February 11, 2020 at 5:02 pm LUCYG

300 degrees, people! It’s in the recipe! And no, they don’t come out dry.

  36. on July 8, 2020 at 12:33 pm Faye Johnson

    What temperature??????????????????

  37. on February 1, 2021 at 7:06 pm Susan Kolyvek

What temperature do you cook these chops at?

  38. on February 17, 2021 at 1:24 pm janet metcalf

At what temperature are they baked for so long ?

  39. on March 7, 2021 at 7:00 pm APRIL RIEDEL

Very disappointed, pork chops were dry and overcooked, sticking to the pan almost burnt.

  40. on March 7, 2021 at 7:42 pm APRIL RIEDEL

    Worst pork chop recipe ever.

  41. on April 10, 2021 at 6:45 pm Linda H

Baked 2 1/2 hours, covered at 300 degrees and it started burning. Did a single layer of 3 pork chops in a 7 x 11 pan. Maybe I didn’t use enough sauce? I thought BBQ sauce was supposed to be added at the end of cook time because of the high sugar content.

  42. on September 11, 2021 at 4:15 pm Brenda L Scheeler

    What degrees for the oven

  43. on September 26, 2021 at 10:29 am Bonnie Ratcliffe

Going to do this next time I do pork chops. Wondering also…I have some smoked chops…would this work with them?

  44. on December 13, 2021 at 11:51 am robert jewell

Does this recipe also apply to boneless pork chops?

  45. on January 21, 2022 at 5:28 pm Rose Rodgers

Could I just sear these and then bake them without the bbq sauce?

    • on February 12, 2022 at 8:09 am pictureperfectcooking

I think they would turn out very dry without some kind of sauce.
