Are you ready for another crazy Stephanie Plum adventure?  Do you need a fun summertime book to read poolside?  Then look no further than Janet Evanovich’s latest Stephanie Plum book, “Takedown Twenty”!  Here are the first lines:

“It was late at night and Lula and I had been staking out Salvatore Sunucchi, better known as Uncle Sunny, when Lula spotted Jimmy Spit.  Spit had his prehistoric Cadillac Eldorado parked on the fringe of the Trenton public housing projects, half a block from Sunucchi’s apartment, and he had the trunk lid up.”

It doesn’t matter how many of the Plum books I read, they still make me laugh out loud.  The characters and the scrapes they get themselves into are priceless!

Welcome to another Friday which means it is time for Book Beginnings!  Head on over to Rose City Reader to see what I and other bloggers have been reading lately.

My book today is “Notorious Nineteen” by Janet Evanovich which is another in the funny and entertaining Stephanie Plum series.  It is always a hoot to see what mischief and mayhem Plum the Bounty Hunter can get into next!

“I don’t know why we gotta sit here baking in your car in the middle of the day, in the middle of the summer, in the middle of this crummy neighborhood,” Lula said.  “It must be two hundred degrees in here.  Why don’t we have the air conditioning on?”

Now, if you have read any of this series, you know there must be a reason there is no air conditioning in Stephanie’s car.  She is lucky to even have a car for more than a few days!  These books are funny and easy to read.  If you haven’t tried them, grab one and see if you can read it without laughing out loud.

Book Beginnings

Hello and welcome to today’s edition of Book Beginnings, a fun link party hosted by Rose City Reader for all you book lovers out there.  Grab a book, jot down the first line or two, and tell us what you think.  That’s all there is to it!

My book today is “Wicked Business” by Janet Evanovich:

“My name is Lizzy Tucker, and I used to think I was normal.”

From this first line, you really don’t know how this book is going to go.  If you are not familiar with Ms. Evanovich’s work, you might think that this may be someone with a serious problem in her life, but don’t fret, Lizzy is just fine. She just has a little extra gift.

I always enjoy this author’s books, especially if I am looking for something on the sunny side of reading.  This book is fun, flirty and fast…just perfect for a lighthearted read when you want to escape from the real world.
