Good morning and welcome to the first Monday of June!  What?!?!?!  Is it June already?  Wow, this year is just flying right by me and I wish I could slow it down just a little bit, don’t you?  Sorry I was MIA last Monday, but the holiday weekend through me off schedule a little bit as did working in the yard for hours and hours.  I really didn’t even want to think about cooking last week and I didn’t do a whole lot.

The next few weeks should be much better.  I took the time on Saturday to sit down and tentatively menu plan for the whole month so I could make a serious grocery list.  Hopefully, I will make it to the stores this week to re-stock our shelves.  I am listing several meals today, but one or two might not get made if I have to go grocery shopping after work.

Bubble-up pizza

Grilled steak burgers with oven fries

Pineapple grilled pork chops (new) with oven fries & salad

Grilled hot dogs with chips

Grilled tenderloin with butter roasted potatoes (Sensing a grilling theme this week?)

Pizza night

Double berry scones (New for this month’s dessert challenge)

Another week has passed so it is time for another weekly menu plan.  I don’t know about you, but the days just go by faster and faster.  Just think, next Monday is Memorial Day ALREADY!!  Why do pretty days seem to last half the time dreary days do?

Speaking of dreary days, this weekend has been a little damp for us around here with scattered showers both days so we spent most of our time indoors taking it pretty easy for a change. Hopefully we will have some nice evenings this week to get out and enjoy.

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries (2 nights)

Easy deep dish pizza casserole (new)

Shredded beef taco roast (didn’t get made a couple of weeks ago so it is still new.)

Pizza night

Cinnamon roll cake (new)

Please join me and other menu planners at I’m An Organizing Junkie for today’s edition of Menu Plan Monday.  Welcome to the start of another week and I hope my work schedule is a little calmer than last week.  We had court three days and played catch-up the other two from those court days.  All of us at the office were beat on Friday afternoon and were ready for a weekend of R and R.

C & I made it to the grocery Friday night and to Lowe’s, where we purchased 3 more Compacta holly shrubs and a dwarf Alberta spruce tree to finish up the front retaining wall landscaping.  They were planted Saturday and we also installed 4 new landscape lights in the back garage flowerbed.  Now all of we have to do is get a load of landscape rock to finish up then we can start on some new project.  I don’t think we will ever call our house done because there is always something we want to do.

I am keeping this week’s menu pretty simple because I hope we get to get outside and enjoy our evenings.  Hope everyone has a great and blessed week!  See you next time!

Welcome to another rainy Monday here in our neck of the woods!  The last few days have been nothing but wet and dreary so we are ready for some sunshine anytime the weather wants to cooperate. It certainly has put our outdoor plans on hold, but I have used the time to take care of some housework and C & I spent Saturday in nearby Bowling Green using a few Christmas gift cards and doing a little shopping.  I used to love to shop all day, but now it just wears me out.  Is that a sign that I am getting old?  No? I didn’t think so either.  Ha!

I have a few new recipes to try this week, time permitting, so I hope they work out well.  Whenever the sun shines, I hope to be outside so some of those dishes may have to wait until later.

Italian sloppy Joes (new) with oven fries (Didn’t get made last week.)

Tacos with salad

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries

Salsa burgers (new) with chips

Shredded beef taco roast (new) with potatoes of some kind

Pizza night

Black/White cookies (new)

Welcome to this week’s Menu Plan Monday post hosted by I’m An Organizing Junkie.  Every week, I and many other menu planning bloggers link up our meal lists for everyone to see.  Check it out and you will find lots of ideas and recipes.

C & I are still in spring cleaning/home improvement mode here, but the weather is just not cooperating.  We have had storms, rain, and more cool temperatures this past weekend and next weekend is shaping up to be more of the same.  I did manage to wash windows and clean out from under our bed Saturday so that knocked a couple of small items off the list.  We also gave our four legged friend a bath, brushed her teeth, and trimmed her nails.  Ellie got the five star spa treatment and hated every minute of it.  Oh well, she certainly smells better now.

This week’s menu is a little short because we have a couple of nights where we will probably have take out or eat out, but I do hope to get in one new recipe next weekend.  Have a great week, everyone!

Spicy beef vegetable soup

Taco ring (2 nights)

Grilled pork chops & oven fries

Italian sloppy Joes (new) with curly fries

Good morning, folks!  I am heading back to work today after taking a short vacation last week and I think I will get more rest at work than I did at home.   I spring cleaned on Wednesday and Thursday then painted the master bathroom and bedroom Friday and Saturday.  The color is pretty much the same as it was, a pale cool blue.  In fact, it may just be a shade lighter and I also touched up the baseboards and door trim, too.  It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do for a room.  Everything looks so fresh and clean.

What brought this paint party on, you ask?  Well, when we built our house seven years ago, we installed plain old frameless mirrors in the master bath.  They are nice and big, but not so pretty especially with the plastic clips.  I have been wanting to frame them for a while and I found out about this product called Mirror Mate.  I promise to have a whole post about them when the project is done, but for now I have ordered three samples so we can choose the one we like best.  Can’t wait!  Before we install these, I wanted the room to have a fresh coat of paint so that is why I had a paint roller or brush in my hand for two days.

I also took a little time to plant some lettuce starts and carrot seeds, too.  Let the gardening begin!

There were a couple of menu items that didn’t get made last week because we had leftovers to eat instead.  These are getting postponed to this week.  I hope everyone has a safe and blessed week!

Good morning and welcome to this week’s Menu Plan Monday post.  Please join me and many others over at I’m An Organizing Junkie and you will find menu planners with some great food ideas.

I am afraid my menu plan for last week did not go so well, but that just means I can re-use the ideas for this week.  Right? Right?!?!  Yep, that’s right.  I am taking a few vacation days this week to do some spring cleaning and painting that I haven’t had time for so I hope to get lots accomplished in the days ahead.  C & I have a few landscaping projects so I am hoping to get the inside of the house in good shape so we can work outside in the coming weeks.

What’s that?  Will there be photos of the our projects?  Well, of course there will be!  Just keep checking back and eventually you will see what we have planned.

Good morning, folks, and welcome to this week’s edition of Menu Plan Monday hosted by I’m An Organizing Junkie.  Sorry I was MIA last week, but we an unexpected life event rear its ugly head.  C’s grandmother passed away and her service was held last Monday. She was blessed with 88 long years, but that is never enough to the people that love her.  She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

To say that through our routine into chaos is an understatement. Both C and his mom are both only children so that makes (in my experience) family members extra close to one another.  Everyone is doing well, but please join me in prayer for comfort and strength for our entire family, but especially for C and his mom, J.

We are finally having some gorgeous spring weather around here so it is time to get outside and enjoy!  With that, I am keeping my menu pretty simple to have more opportunity to get out and soak up the sun.

Salsa sloppy Joes with oven fries

Taco ring with salad

Grilled pork chops with butter roasted potatoes and salad

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries

Cheese stuffed mini meatloaves (new) with potatoes of some kind

Is is actually Spring?  I think the calendar may be wrong because it is cold and wet and dreary and, well, you get the picture.  Where’s the sunshine?  There is so much that we want to do outside, but it is just too cool and damp to do any of it yet.  I guess that means more time to cook more comfort food even though our diet won’t like it too well.

This is an odd and short menu week for me.  I have a couple of new weeknight dinner ideas to try, Easter is next Sunday, and we have a couple of nights/days out planned.  This Tuesday is my homemakers/cooking club meeting and I will actually be one of the presenters this time. *Gulp*  I will be making a couple of dairy free ice creams and talking a little about lactose intolerance. Wish me luck…I will probably need it.

Next Saturday, C & I are going to the first Kentucky Green Living Fair in Somerset which is being organized by Sustainable Kentucky.  I am really excited about it and can’t wait to see the booths and a couple of the seminars planned.  After that, I hope we get to drive up to Stanford to the Bluebird Café and then to Lancaster to Marksbury Farms.  It will be a very full day, but we don’t go that direction very often so I want to try to squeeze as much in as possible.

Sunday is Easter, of course, which means celebrating our risen Lord Jesus Christ at church that morning and then eating with both sides of the family at lunch and dinner so I will have multiple dishes to make for that.  Happy Easter to everyone!

Enchilada beef (new)

Pizza night

Taco pork chops (new) with oven fries

Brown sugar honey glazed ham (new)

Is it Monday again already?  Time sure does fly whether you are having fun or not, unfortunately.  Well, C & I took time for a little fun and adventure this weekend and it was well-deserved.  C has been a comic book fan from way back and we went to the Lexington Comic & Toy Convention this past Saturday.  It was really fun, but very very crowded.  So crowded, in fact, that is was overwhelming for both of us.  I am not usually an anxious person, but being in the middle of a large moving crowd can set my nerves on edge.

If we go back next year, at least we will be better prepared on what to expect.  Check back on Thursday because I hope to have some photos featured of the events and people in costume.

This week looks to be just a normal week for us.  The office that I work in is open one Saturday morning a month so this Saturday is my turn to work.  We will probably being sticking close to home because of that so hopefully I can get some more cleaning done after work.  I hope all of my readers have a great and blessed week!

Bubble up pizza (didn’t get made last week)
