Good morning and welcome to November’s first Menu Plan Monday post.  That does say November, right?  Wow, it is hard to believe that we are in full swing of the holiday season already.  C & I had a few trick or treaters last Thursday and it is always so much fun to the little ones dressed in their costumes.  Ellie loves Halloween too!  She loves all of the rubs and hugs she gets and returns the favor with a wildly wagging tail and a few licks for good measure.

C & I attended a chili supper/hayride at our church on Saturday night and had a great time.  I took a pot of chili and these decadent Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl cupcakes that I made from a recipe on the Bakerella site.  They were awesome!

This week’s menu is all about using up what I have in the fridge/freezer/pantry before I go to the grocery at the end of the week.  I hope everyone has a wonderful first week of November!

Good morning and happy almost-Halloween, folks!  Are you ready to hand out candy to all of the little ghosts and goblins in your neighborhood?  We sure are and I hope the weather takes it easy on us that day.  There is a chance for some nastiness, but hopefully it will not be too bad.  It is hard to believe that the end of October is this week and we are staring down the barrel of the holiday season.  Shew, this year has flown right by and there doesn’t seem to be any slow down in sight.  I guess we just better hang on and enjoy the ride!

This past Saturday, C & I went to Lexington, KY for the Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show and I had a blast!  There will be a full (and I do mean FULL) recap on my Thoughtful Thursday post this week so come on back and check it out.  Also, I will have a few photos from Saturday as well on a Wordless Wednesday post.  The sun was being shy Saturday, but I did manage to snag a few pretty shots of the scenery between home and Lexington.

I have several new recipes on the list to try this week, plus I will probably have a new dessert also that is not listed because I haven’t made up my mind what it will be.  Our church is having their annual chili supper next Saturday night so I will, of course, have to take some chili and a sweet treat.  Happy Halloween and fall, y’all!!

It is time to get another week started so let’s make it a good one!  C & I had a nice lazy weekend at home so hopefully we are rearing to go today, maybe…hopefully.  These cool mornings sure make it hard to get up because all I want to do is stay in my nice, warm bed for just a little while longer.

I have a couple of new recipes on the menu for this week and I hope they are both winners.  It has been years since I have made stuffed peppers so I am really excited to try this stuffed pepper soup.  I think I could eat soup every night right now.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed week!

Easy deep dish pizza with salad

Plain Chicken’s calzones with salad

Hello again!  Wow, these weeks just seem to go by faster and faster especially the weekends.  I blink and it is time to go back to work again.  This weekend C & I did something that I had not done in YEARS.  We went to a haunted house/woods/hayride called Skeleton’s Lair with a group of our cousins.  Of course, we had to eat first and we did eat at Shogun Bistro which is a hibachi grill restaurant.  That was the first time C or I had ever eat at a place like that and it was good, but pricey!!  We all had a great time though and that is all that matters.  Here’s a photo of the group that went to the haunted house:

I don’t have any new dishes this week.  I know, I am a bad food blogger, but I have a few house cleaning projects that I want to get done so cooking will take a back burner until I get they are finished.

Grilled pork chops with butter roasted potatoes

Sausage bake

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries (didn’t get made last week)

Welcome back, everyone!  It is Monday once again so it is time for another menu plan.  I finally made it to the big grocery store in the next town over to restock the fridge/freezer/pantry so I can get back to cooking.  Let’s just say that there wasn’t much kitchen action last week and there was a whole lot of eating out going on.  That’s okay occasionally but our local options are kind of limited so it gets old quick.

Last Friday night, C, his parents, and I went to a Charlie Daniels Band concert at the Plaza Theater in Glasgow, KY and had a great time!  The musicians are just amazing to watch and listen to.  There was so much talent on that stage.  Before the concert, we ate at a little local restaurant called A Little Taste of Texas and the food was really good.  The wait was TERRIBLE, but the place is pretty small and they were busy that night.  I had shredded pork BBQ that was really tasty and C had a steak that he said was good as well.

I have one new recipe planned for this week and some old favorites. We may be going to a haunted house with family next weekend (if I don’t run away screaming like a little girl) so we will probably eat out that night.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Bubble up enchiladas

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries (2 nights)

Plain Chicken’s Easy Calzones (new)

Pizza night

Beef roast Italian a with oven fries

Please join me and many other menu planning bloggers over at I’m An Organizing Junkie for Menu Plan Monday.  You might just find a new favorite meal if the long list of plans.

This seems to be the summer/fall of never-ending yard work for us.  Usually we will have a few weeks in the summer when it gets hot and dry that we don’t have much to do.  That did not happen this year!  We are still mowing and trimming our little hearts out every week just to keep up.  C & I are going to try to finish pressure washing this week as well (I hope!!!!) so the menu is pretty simple.  We also have a couple of evenings out planned so that also makes the menu a little short.  It makes me a little tired just thinking about it, but it’s all good.

Famous pork chops with oven fries

Aunt Barbara’s beef stew (new-didn’t get made a couple of weeks ago)

Baked ham slices with oven fries

Good morning and welcome to this week’s edition of Menu Plan Monday!  C & I had a lazy laidback weekend and enjoyed every minute of it.  I did almost no cooking the whole time and it was a nice little break, but now I am ready to get back in the kitchen at least a little.  I think we all need a break from things now and then.  I know it helps me regroup and actually want to get back at it again.

This week is full of old favorites with one new recipe thrown in next weekend.  The weather is supposed to be gorgeous all week long so hopefully we can get a few more outside chores done and maybe just get out and enjoy it too!  Have a great week!

Who has been out enjoying this beautiful late summer/early fall weather?  We have!!!  This weekend has been so nice weather-wise that it has been hard to make myself go inside to get some chores done so I just didn’t.  I finally finished painting my hutch on Saturday, along with sowing a fall lettuce crop, setting out a fall display, and actually HAND-WASHING my car.  Woo hoo!  I also took a little time to watch most of the UK-U of L football, but we won’t talk about that right now.  Let’s just say it didn’t go my way.

This week is supposed to be nice temperature wise but with a little rain moving in.  Hopefully it won’t be a complete wash-out.  I still plan on getting outside as much as possible so this week’s menu will be on the simple side, but I still have a new recipe or two to throw in. Have a great week, everyone!

Salsa sloppy Joes with chips & fresh fruit

Pioneer Woman’s Easy Calzones with Marinara (new)

Deep dish pizza casserole with salad

Tomato soup & grilled cheese

Takeout night

Aunt Barbara’s Beef Stew (new-not my Aunt Barbara)

I need to sing the blues a little bit today.  C & I were on vacation last week and today is our first day back at work.  Don’t get me wrong, I really like my job and I know I am blessed to have it.  We just got REALLY spoiled to not having an alarm go off in the morning and I got REALLY spoiled with not having to get ready every morning.  C might prefer that I am going back so I will fix my hair and put a little makeup on.  I can tell that did not happen much this last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

We did get a few chores accomplished while we were off.  Personally, I did a little freezer cooking, a lot of ironing, cleaned up the garden beds and emptied my flower pots.  C washed a lot of our vinyl siding, mowed our yard and his parent’s yard and weedeated everything!  We still have a few more little jobs to finish up but we made quite a bit of progress in just a few days.  Oh, we did manage to sneak in a little extra rest as well.  I DID say we were getting spoiled to being home.  We would make great hermits if there are any job openings for those!!

At first I said that I wasn’t going to cook at all while I was off, but that didn’t last long.  It was actually a pleasure since I could do it when I wanted and had time to keep things fairly clean as I went.  It was really, really nice.  This week is pretty simple so there probably won’t be anything new this time.  C & I still want to try to finish up a few little projects.

Happy Labor Day, folks!  I hope everyone is having a safe and fun holiday weekend.  It is not just a long weekend for us since we decided to go ahead and take this week off for our “summer vacation”.  Woo hoo!!!  C & I were both so in need of a little R & R so hopefully this week will be easy and laid back.

We decided not to travel anywhere for this vacation so we are acting like hermits.  Hopefully, we will have some time for a  few small projects around the house that have gotten pushed aside.   So far I have managed to do some freezer cooking and cabinet/closet clean outs and it’s only Monday.

I do have somewhat of a menu this week but it is shorter since we will probably be eating leftovers a few times.  Last week, I didn’t list the new recipe that I tried which was a Rustic Pot Roast that I made yesterday.  It will be on the blog very soon!

Sausage cheese dip with nacho chips

Cheesy steak sandwiches with oven fries and salad

Baked ham slices with oven fries and corn on the cob

Honey butter pork loin (new) with baked potatoes
